SymTech Labs' External EGT Interface Modules condition the signal from a standard K-type probe/thermocouple for use with any MegaSquirt system. Designed to be mounted external to MegaSquirt EMS enclosures, they are available in single- or multi-channel configurations with a user-selectable range (0-1000°C or 0-1250°C).
Exhaust gas temperature (EGT) data is very useful while tuning. It can quickly alert you to dangerous air/fuel ratios before a catastrophe occurs. MegaSquirt EMS has the ability to log, display, and react to critical EGT values, but not without a hardware interface between the MegaSquirt ECU and EGT probe/thermocouple.
Installation is simple! Each module requires a connection to 12V power and ground, plus three connections per channel: two for each EGT probe/thermocouple and one for each channel output. Modules connect to EGT probes/thermocouples effortlessly with high-quality screw terminals. They can be mounted using their integrated mounting holes, or the flanged enclosure lids (if equipped).
EGT probes/thermocouples are not included. All K-type thermocouples (chromel/alumel pair) are compatible. Without CAN-based I/O expanders, MS1 systems support a maximum of one channel, MS2/MS3 systems support up to two channels, and MS3+MS3X systems support up to five channels.
